Solar panels for a 3 storey home in Speers Point

Can a 3 storey home get solar panels?

Yes, absolutely the Solahart Newcastle team can install solar panels on one, two or three storey homes in the region. In fact we can install solar panels on large warehouses, commercial offices & residential homes. To install solar panels on a 3-storey home in Newcastle with Solahart, a reputable solar installation company, several steps are typically involved:

Initial Consultation: Contact Solahart Newcastle to schedule an initial consultation. During this step, a solar expert from the company will visit your home to assess its solar potential, discuss your energy needs, and understand your specific requirements and preferences.

Solar Assessment: The solar expert will evaluate your home’s roof structure, orientation, shading, and available space to determine the most suitable solar panel system for your needs. They will also consider your electricity consumption patterns to recommend an appropriately sized system. This will help determine how many panels are needed, the type & how they may be installed.

Proposal and Quotation: Based on the assessment, Solahart will provide you with a detailed proposal and quotation. The proposal will include information about the recommended solar panel system, the estimated energy savings, the installation cost, available financing options, and potential government incentives or rebates.

System Customisation: Solahart will work with you to customise the solar panel system to fit your preferences and budget. You can choose from different types of solar panels, inverters, and other system components.

Installation: Once all the paperwork and approvals are in place, the installation process will begin. Solahart’s team of experienced installers will mount the solar panels on your roof and connect them to the inverter and electrical system.

Testing and Commissioning: After the installation is complete, the system will undergo thorough testing to ensure that it is functioning correctly and efficiently. Solahart will also explain how to monitor and use the solar panel system effectively.

After-sales Support: Solahart offers ongoing customer support and maintenance services for your solar panel system. They may provide warranties for the panels and other components, ensuring peace of mind for years to come.

The installation process may vary slightly depending on your specific home, local regulations, and Solahart’s procedures. Throughout the process, communication with Solahart’s team is key to address any questions or concerns you may have along the way. Installing solar panels can significantly reduce your home’s carbon footprint and provide long-term cost savings, making it a worthwhile investment for many homeowners no matter the height of the building.

Can solar power help provide electricity for a pool and air conditioning?

Yes, solar power can be an excellent solution for providing electricity to power a pool and air conditioning in Newcastle. Solar power can be utilised in these ways (depending on the actual set up & capacity)

Pool Heating: Swimming pools require energy to heat the water, especially in regions with cooler temperatures like Newcastle. Solar pool heating systems use solar thermal collectors (not to be confused with solar panels that generate electricity) to capture sunlight and transfer the heat to the pool water. The heated water is then circulated back into the pool, effectively warming it without relying on conventional electricity or gas heaters.

Pool Pump: Swimming pool pumps are essential for maintaining water circulation and filtration, but they can consume a significant amount of electricity. By connecting the pool pump to a solar photovoltaic (PV) system, you can power the pump with clean solar energy. Solar PV panels generate electricity from sunlight, which can directly power the pool pump during daylight hours. In some cases, excess electricity generated during the day can be stored in batteries or fed back into the grid for credit, which can help offset energy use during the night.

Air Conditioning: Air conditioning is essential for maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures, especially during hot summer months in Newcastle. Solar energy can power air conditioning systems in two main ways:

a. On-Grid Solar System: Solar PV panels can be installed on the roof or other suitable locations of the property. The electricity generated during the day is used to power the air conditioning system directly. Any surplus electricity can be exported to the grid or stored in batteries for later use.

b. Hybrid Solar System: A hybrid solar system combines solar PV panels with battery storage. During sunny periods, the solar panels power the air conditioning system and charge the batteries. When the sun is not shining, the stored energy in the batteries can be used to run the air conditioner, reducing reliance on the grid.

The effectiveness of using solar power for pool heating and air conditioning depends on the size of the solar PV system, the efficiency of the air conditioning unit, the pool’s size and location, and the local climate conditions. There are so many variables but our solar power technicians can review your site with a free consultation and show you what the options might be.

What solar panel system did we install at this home in Speers Point?

The height on this home meant we had to install scaffolding and use a scissor lift to reach the top of the building. We installed a 10kW solar panel system that included;

1 x Goodwe Single Phase Inverter (10.0kW)

25 x Solahart SunCell 400W Panels

Overall the cost was around $11,000 including all the extra support needed to manage the height of the installation for this property which was about 632m2.

Whenever the air conditioner and pool pump is being used in daylight hours it would be drawing on the solar power produced by the 10kW Solahart Solar Power System.

In order to run the air conditioner and other household electricity at night using solar power the client would need to add battery storage.
